John Michael  Hedican
Surrounded by his wife and family, John passed away in his log home that he loved so much. John and his wife Kathleen (Cooke) had a wonderful married life of 65 years. John always said he had a full and happy life. He was devoted to his wife and five daughters. Cheryl Mousseau. Jo Anne (Dave) Eckert, Patti Stratton. Wendy (Dan) Djakalovic, Tara (Michael) O'Brien. Cherished Grandfather of Michelle Mousseau, Tim and Amanda Eckert, Luke and Emma Stratton, Lisa Djakalovic and D'arcy (Justin) Kelemen and Fraser (Stefanie) Kate and Meghan O'Brien, Great Grandfather of Cameron and Landon Kelemen. He will be sadly missed. John is survived by his sisters, Mary, Marcella and Lorraine and brothers Neil and Gerald. Pre-deceased by his parents, Thomas and Annie, his brother Laurence and his nephew Laurence Kean.
John was born in Timmins, Ontario on July 29, 1929. He started his working life as a miner, in Timmins. Later, he moved to Kitchener where he was a long-time employee, ( 25 years), at Grand River Hospital where he negotiated many contracts for his Union. He retired in 1993 and they enjoyed many happy years in Yuma, Arizona making many friends. We will celebrate John's life on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Visitation begins at 1 o'clock followed by a memorial gathering and reception at the Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus, Ontario--280 St David St. South (Fergus).
