John Wesley Bott, CPA, CGA, LPA

January 25, 1955 – May 1, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that we announce John’s sudden passing, in his 66th year, from a collision while riding his favourite Harley.

John was a loving husband to his wife of 10 years Michelle (Mei Yang) and was cherished by his children James, Sarah (Spencer), and Luke (Leah). Papa will be missed by grandkids Owen, Annabelle, Noah, and Lennox.
Born in Saskatchewan, John happily settled into a life in Elora focused on family, friends, and riding motorcycles. He deftly grew his accounting firm over the years and had started training new generations of accountants. His love of a fine drink, a great meal, and a shared laugh were well-known. His generosity touched so many lives and his ability to bring people together was remarkable.

The son of Cora Head and Ray Bott (both predeceased), brother of Lois King, Paul Bott, Ruth Roes (predeceased), and Walter Bott (predeceased), former husband to Kimberly Kerr-Bott, and friend to countless others, John was a determined man whose spirit will continue to live on.

To Michelle and John's family and friends, our deepest condolences to you. Our relationship with John was on a professional level - yet when we spoke with him on accounting issues, he felt more like a friend. His advice was golden and his good humor was very much appreciated. Many will be sadden by his passing, and not just because he was a good account. John was a good person, it was evident that he cared about people, we knew he cared about us. We will miss him. ~ from Tim & Evelyn Gould, previous owners of Jester's Fun Factory.

My Sincere Condolences to John's entire family and friends. I last spoke with John several weeks before his accident and I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of his passing. I have known and appreciated John for many years, and have benefited from his professional services. I also had the opportunity to work on various homes that John owned over the years. We always seemed to understand each others humor and have shared many a laugh together. Rest in peace John, You will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to your family.

The years of friendship and excellent advice you gave me will never be forgotten. I have had many fun times flood back into memory lately, like making antipasto, drinking wine and playing pool. I will miss your not so subtle jabs about my bookkeeping, your semi-smiling face and your knowing glance that seemed to cut through all the BS. :) Both Vicki & I send our deepest condolences go to your family for their loss. John was a one of a kind, irreplaceable kind of guy. Rest in peace.
