Obituary for Joan Williams

Suddenly in the early hours of March 28, 2010 at the age of 81. She leaves her husband Richard (Dick), daughter Rhiannon, son-in-law Lloyd, two adored grandchildren Caitlin and Owen. She was dearly loved by all her family and many friends. A vivacious, intelligent lady who with her strength of character steered a seafaring family through feast and famine. A gifted person who was, in her younger days, a prominent violinist in various orchestras as well as being a popular teacher. Joan and Dick immigrated to Canada in 1993 from South Wales to be near their family. A memorial service will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church at the corner of Henderson and Smith Streets in Elora on Wednesday March 31, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. Cremation has taken place. We (Joan and Dick) left our home in Wales never expecting that we would settle easily in Elora. However we spent the happiest years of our lives in this wonderful town. She died a happy woman. Remembrances to St John the Evangelist Anglican Church would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 37 Church Street Elora. 519 846 5352www.grahamgiddyfh.com
