It is with profound sadness, that we share the news of the passing of Joan Marie Morgan, on Sunday, December 12, at the age of 85. Joan died peacefully, following years of complications due to diabetes.

Joan was born in Wembley, England, on November 9, 1936. She leaves behind, her life partner, Dave Horst, sons, Russ Morgan (Lori), Glenn Morgan (Ellie), step-daughter, Cindie Horst-Ballos, and was predeceased by her youngest son, Jeffrey Morgan who passed away in April of 2021. Joan’s first passion was her family. She was a warm and loving partner, mother and mother-in-law. She was a beloved Nana to Melissa and Jacob (Russ), Connor, Cassidy, Matthew and Brennan (Glenn) and Ben and Finn (Cindie). She found great joy in watching her grandchildren’s growth and was always proud to share in their accomplishments.

Always beautiful, inside and out, Joan was a kind, empathetic and generous person. She will be remembered for her fablulous skills in the kitchen and her passion for flowers, her gardens and the environment. She was a grand-master bridge player, an avid reader and a good friend to many.

In accordance with Joan’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. In her memory, donations to the Diabetes Association of Canada, will be appreciated. Due to Covid-19 Joan’s family wish to respect the saftey of all their friends and family. When the time comes a remembrance for Joan and a celebration of her life will take place.

Joan Marie Morgan will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends, and we will find peace in our memories of her.
