1928 – 2019
Suddenly at his Kitchener residence at the age of 91 years. Loving husband of Geraldine Hickey ( nee ) Brown. Dear father of Darrell Hickey , Marilyn Rayner ( Robert ), Janet Rogers ( Brian ) and Penny Henderson. Fondly remembered by his brother Lawrence Hickey, his sisters Margaret Dunnigan, Kath Haller ( Robert ). Loving Grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Predeceased by his first wife June Hickey, his father Reginald Hickey, mother Marie Hickey (nee) Fischer, sisters Fran Hofer ( Nelson ), Pat Genovese and brother in laws William Dunnigan, Nicholas Genoveses and Robert Haller. Jerry served 21 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, retiring as a CPO. Employed by Marsland Eng., Leigh Instruments and Raytheon Canada in Waterloo until retirement in 1986. Jerry was a Chief & Petty Officers Association in Halifax N. S. & Victoria B.C., K-W Naval Association in Waterloo, Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 126 Cambridge, ON and FSNA Kitchener, ON. At Jerry’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be a private family service and burial of cremated remains. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Homes-Waterloo Chapel, 617 King St. N. Waterloo (across from Home Depot). Donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
