Obituary for Jean Gray Houston (Gilbert)
Passed away peacefully on Friday July 29 at Guelph General Hospital, in her 84th year. She was surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.
Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Bob (2012). Jean is survived by her loving partner of 8 years, Don VanWyck, as well as her brother John Gilbert (Marilyn).
Cherished mother of Brent (Darlene), Doug (Jan) and Brian (Dee).
Predeceased by her parents; Frank and Jean Gilbert, and her son John (Shelley) (2016).
Proud nanny of 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 10-11 AM on Friday August 5, 2022 at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus. Funeral Service to take place in the Funeral Home Chapel following visitation, at 11 AM. A reception will be held on the upper level of the Funeral Home in the Wellington Room following the Funeral Service. A private interment will take place with Jean’s family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to Groves Memorial Community Hospital or to Guelph General Hospital, and are greatly appreciated by her family.
