Obituary for Jane Cree "Jean" Williamson (Mackenzie)

Jane Cree "Jean" Williamson (Mackenzie)
Jane Cree Williamson (McGuinness) affectionately known to all as ” Jean “ passed away peacefully on August 9, 2013 in her 80th year. She leaves behind her loving sons Brian McGuinness and his wife Catherine, Kenny McGuinness and his wife Lorraine. Much loved Nana to Jacob, Kendra, Jamie (Miranda), Scott (Erin) Cathan (Arron) as well, Great Nana Jean to Julianna, Dusty, Autumn, Leland, Mckenna, Thatcher, Averie, Hayden, and Jackson . Her wee dog Jasper will miss his walks in the park with her. Gone before her was her love Gord Williamson (2010) whom she missed so much. He was her “Right Hand” . She also leaves her siblings in Britain and Australia as well as many nieces and nephews.
Jean worked for many years at Kodak Canada. She took an early retirement along with Gord . They started their own business in Fergus called Willmac Janitorial Services employing many young people in town who became lifelong friends. They worked for many years cleaning professional offices throughout Fergus and Elora. Jean suffered a major stroke 20 years ago and although it left her paralyzed on her right side she fought to regain her independence and learned to use her left hand to do all her daily chores. We were always after her to not do jobs that required a ladder but she was as feisty and stubborn as ever. She continued to drive until her passing. She made the best homemade French fries that would put every Chip Wagon to shame.
At Jeans request, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. The family would like to invite friends to a memorial luncheon in celebration of her life with a burial to follow at Belsyde Cemetery. Date and place to be announced at a later time . In lieu of flowers the family wishes that any donations in mum’s name be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Graham Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus.ww.graha,giddyfh.com 519 843 3100

A loving Ode to our Nana
A gentle wind, blew across the land.
Reaching out to take her hand
For on the winds, an angel came
Calling out nana Jean's name
Left behind, the family in tears
Loving memories of all the years
Of joy an love a life well spent
Now to God, my nana sent
On angel wings, a heavenly flight
The journey home, towards the light.
To those who weep, no longer to roam
She rests in peace, as the angel's bring her home.

Love and miss you nana Jean xxxx
