Obituary for Jane Elisabeth Daintry Easterbrook

Jane Elisabeth Daintry  Easterbrook
Jane Elisabeth was born 27 April 1942 at Windsor, England and died 21 February 2017 at
Groves Hospital, Fergus, peacefully to the sounds of the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra.
She was the daughter of Richard K. Smerdon, I.S.O., and his wife Barbara (nee Pullen), both deceased. She is survived by her brother Richard, Toronto.
Elisabeth was educated at Sherborne School for Girls. Dorset, England and then worked
backstage in the theatre and with BBC Television. In 1968 she married Ian Easterbrook and they moved to Canada where she was a sessional lecturer with the University of Guelph Drama Department.
After raising their children, Edward (Robyn), Toronto and Margaret Tyler (Jim), Parry Sound, her career path travelled through CBC Television, Toronto, followed by stints as House Mother at Upper Canada College; Canadian College Italy; then in England at King Edward’s School; Rugby; and Harrow. Back in Canada, she worked with Andrew Johnson & Associates, insurance and financial services. Most recently she has been a special part of Critters to Castles, pet and home care in Elora.
Memorial donations may be made to Groves Memorial Community Hospital, Fergus.
A celebration of her life will be held in April.
The family is extremely grateful for all the goodness and loving kindness shown to Elisabeth by friends, neighbours, and particularly the staff at Groves and Dr. and Mrs. John Stickney.
