Passed away peacefully on Sunday February 24, 2019 at age 76 after a lengthy illness at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Dear husband and best friend of Karen (Whale) for 56 years. Loving dad of Ron, Donna and Linda, blessed to be grandpa of Tyler and Jenny, Matt, Samantha and Kyle, Kaylin and Erick, Josh and Taia and Geordie as well as proud great grandpa of Dominic, Harley, Ethan and Cameron. Brother of Shirley and Lloyd Franklin, Joyce Duffield, Marion and George Whale, Bob and Vera, Hugh and Leslie, Barrie and Cathy, Norm and Bernice, Brian and Wendy, Brother-in-law of Brian Whale, Shirley Hill and Ray Whale and Heather. Fondly remembered by Kerri. Also missed by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Doris Lindsay, infant brother Ronald, brother-in-law Wayne Duffield and inlaws Percy and Marion Whale. A special thanks goes out to Dr. Brault and The Elora Medical Group, Dr. Leber and staff at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton and the terrific staff at Groves Memorial Hospital. Visitation for Jim will be held on Wednesday February 27th from 1-4pm and 7-9pm at The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus. The funeral service will be held at The St. John’s United Church in Belwood on Thursday February 28th at 2pm followed by a time of refreshments held in the church basement. Burial to occur in the spring time at McKee Cemetery.
