Passed away at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Arthur on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in his 79th year. Survived by his wife, the former Janet McEwing. Also surviving are his 4 sons and their families. Brian and Gianna of Glen Williams (Tara, Brendon and Robert), Grant and Janice of Potomac, Maryland (Philip, Lauren and Christopher), Graham and Jo-Ann of Barrie (Kyle and Landon), Donald and Shari of Stratford (Andrew, Matthew and Rachael). Also survived by 4 brothers, 3 sisters and former daughter-in-law Lynn Barber. Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Eva Barber, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Jim was a long time employee of the Royal Bank. A visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Private family interment at Sanctuary Park Cemetery, Port Elgin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Jim to the Groves Hospital Volunteer Association, or to the Centre Wellington Community Recreation Fund.
