Bom-Wrapper

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Hugh Elgie can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Family Connections

Hugh and I were third cousins.  Hugh's father, George Elgie, and my father, George Elgie, were second cousins.   I never really saw much of Hugh, I guess because he was several years younger than me, and I moved away from the community.

Our parents became good friends after they retired and had time to enjoy each other's company.  His parents, George and Jean, and my parents George and Lillian, enjoyed many good times together.

I would hear about Hugh, quiet and steady, working in the Library at the University of Guelph.

Now that I spend a lot of time doing genealogy research, I wish I had connected with him to hear his stories about the Elgie clan.
