Obituary for Hayden Bott
December 1997- October 2020
It is with heart-wrenching sorrow that we announce the passing of Hayden Innes Bott, at the young age of 22, as the result of a tragic car accident near Baden, ON. Born December 1997 in Fergus, ON to Paula MacInnes(Andrew Koob) and Rick Bott, Hayden was the youngest of three children, “big” little brother to Carson (Elisa) and Malcolm Bott. He is survived by his immediate family, grandparents John & Evelyn MacInnes; cherished nephew of Myles & Cheryl MacInnes, Julie MacInnes, Jane & Gary O’Leary, Pamela MacInnes, Arthur MacInnes, Rosemary Ritter, Jane & Clark Reed. Predeceased by his grandmother Catherine MacInnes, grandparents Ethel & Ralph Bott, and uncles Russell Bott and Paul Ritter. Beloved cousin of John (Shelley) & Katrina (Thorsten), Thomas (Laura), Kalie & Emily (Mark), Megan (Kendall), Cameron (Lauren) & Daniel, Olivia & Lillian, David (Jenny), Kelly (Jeffrey) & Patti, Kathleen & Kristopher (Hannah), Robbin. He will also be missed by his extended Koob family: Martin & Heather, Joe, Joan, Kaye & Amelia, Julia, Madeline & Bridget, Angela, Marie & Roger.
He will be remembered for his abundant energy, competitive spirit and kind nature. A man of many questions, Hayden’s curiosity and outgoing attitude allowed him to make friends with ease, and meet new people (and animals!) wherever he went. As a natural athlete, Hayden played hockey throughout his life, and was the first person to challenge someone to a wrestling match, jump in a kayak, swim across the lake or head out on a bike ride. He loved the outdoors, spending time in Cape Breton on family trips,having Hank with him wherever and whenever he could and gaming with friends. He shared the family love of music and enjoyed toying with his ukulele and guitar.
He always greeted family and friends with a warm smile and big hug, enjoyed board games, mini golf and time spent with the cousins. A former science student at the University of Waterloo and St. Jerome’s University, Hayden was excited to have just started his schooling to become a Heavy Equipment Operator. Recently, his love of cars drew him to own a red FRS, and he found many kindred spirits in the car enthusiast community. Hayden was a treasured friend to many and our family has been lifted by the support, thoughtful acts of affection and kind words so many have shared. There was so much more about him and so little time to discover...rest in peace. We take some comfort in knowing he has been embraced by the family that went before him and can laugh at us with them from above. You truly will be missed.
Family and friends may visit at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South on Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 1-4pm and 6-9 pm. Visitors must RSVP and wear a mask. A private invite only service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 am. The service will be live streamed for those who wish to watch the service.
