Peacefully after a brief illness at Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus on December 1, 2014. Beloved husband of Irene Brusch (nee:Tomko) of 54 years. Loving and caring father of John Peter (Julie Clay) Brusch of Belwood and Karen (Jeff) Johnson of Shady Shores Texas. He will be greatly missed by his grandson Eric Brusch of Belwood, whom he loved dearly. Also survived by his sister-in-law Erna Brusch of Hamilton, niece Christine (Dennis) McCutcheon of Dundas, also by nieces Uli, Barbel, Biggie, Gisela and Inge of Germany. Harald was the youngest of 4 children of Hans and Charlotte (nee: Rudloff) Brusch. Born on June 21, 1929 in Schaffhausen Switzerland. Predeceased by his siblings Hans Peter (1944), Christa Just (2009) and Kurt (2002). After completing his apprenticeship in Agriculture he immigrated to Canada in May 1952, with the ambition to establish a family farm. His dream came true, when he and his wife purchased their farm in West Garafraxa Township in 1964. Harald was a successful manager and keeper of the land he loved, until he passed it to the next generation, his son John in 1993. He had 3 passions family, farming and feasting. A gathering of family and friends will take place at The Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Saturday, December 6th, 2014 from 11:00-1:00 pm, there will be a time of remembrance at 12:00 pm. In keeping with what Harald would have wanted, please dress casually.
