Obituary for Grace Marie Carlo

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Grace Marie Carlo (born Grace Marie Mancini), referred to lovingly as “Daisy” by her partner Claire with whom she felt profound peace. Dedicated daughter of Leonardo and Mary, stepdaughter to Connie, sister of Tony, Frank and Leonard “Mario” of Hamilton. Former wife of Joseph, loving mother of Michael (Cheryl), David (Rosanna), and Adam (Katrina). Proud grandmother of Robbie (Victoria), Brett (Sarah), Christopher, Patricia and great-grandmother of Adelaide. Grace was a caring, kind and generous person who largely led a life of selfless duty as a teacher in the Catholic School system in Guelph, a confident, and friend with good intentions to a great many. She spent more recent years as a volunteer working with “Community Care” in the Peterborough (Lakefield) area, which significantly enriched her life. Her truth, spirit of determination and quest for knowledge will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. She passed at Peterborough Regional Health Centre peacefully and gracefully surrounded by love and family after a short battle with lung cancer. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the doctors, nursing staff and health care professionals who treated her with compassion, dignity, and fidelity to her wishes. A private ceremony will be held by the family (due to current COVID19 restrictions) with a celebration of life to follow at a later date. Donations, in lieu of flowers can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Diabetes Canada or a charity of your choice. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
