It is with great sadness the family of Gordon Thring of RR#1 Alma announces his sudden passing on the farm he loved on Sunday, June 20, 2021 in his 78th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Wendy (nee: Millar). Loving father of George (Carol), Shireen (Dennis) Stevens, Deborah Hesketh (Robin Lowe) and Michael. Proud grandfather of Darcy (Jessica), Kaleigh (Dylan), Shelby (Brett), Amy (Brandon), Jake and Joel . Cherished great grandfather of Hunter and Mindy- Lynne. Dear brother of Bette (Jason) Ramage and brother in law of Dallas Thring of Somerville, Australia, Kathryn (Andre) and Janet. Predeceased by his brother Roger, parents George and Olga, sister in law Christine and beloved son in law of Andrew and Vera Millar.

Gord will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family in Ontario and Australia, many co-workers and friends.

Gord’s world revolved around his love for family, hard work and dedication around the farm, especially for his herd of horned Herefords that he was very much proud of. He was a member of the Canadian Herefords Association for 25 years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 2:00 pm- 6:00 pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus. All visitors must RSVP, wear a mask and practice social distancing. A private family service will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
