I first met Gord back in 1990 when I was a Scout leader with Tom Ware. Gord graciously allowed us to use his farm for our Cub camp. The rest is history. Our group, the Guelph 31st Scouts, been using the farm as a camp ever since and hundreds of youth have have had camping experiences at the farm as a result. We annually present the 'Gord Flewelling Spirit of Scouting' award to the youth in each section that most exemplifies the spirit of Scouting. We also developed a special camp badge for those youth attending the camp for the first time. Gord enjoyed seeing the youth having the time of their lives at the camp, winter or summer. We've lost a true treasure. One of my former Scouts replied back to me after I informed him of our loss "I’m really sorry to hear about this. Gord’s generosity influenced hundreds of young men and women. He left an excellent legacy behind. Guelph scouting won’t be the same without him".
He has left behind some great memories.

Condolences to Gordon’s family from both myself and my partner Ruth Bittorf. I only got to really know Gordon the last half dozen years from talking to him at the annual Flewelling reunion. I really enjoyed our conversations as he was a good story teller and had a great memory of historical events regarding our family tree. I will miss him a lot and the reunions will not be quite the same without him.

Our sincerest condolences to you Ray, Karen and your families, very sorry for your loss. Will always remember your dad as a kind and gentle soul. I remember as kids the exciting days at the farm when your dad would come in with the swather and later, the combine to take off the grain. He was always kind to us and we learned a lot from him. Take comfort in knowing the positive influence he had on many others. Blessings. Rodger and Linda

I met Gord and the family when I worked Farm Labour Pool when I was 16. I had a great summer working with Gord - so full of life. He loved the farm and sharing it with his family and friends. Sorry to hear he has passed, he will be missed.

With memories going back over 40 years. I always respected his farming ability and his presence in the community. How he enjoyed plowing with the old 806 on a warm fall day. How he liked to have fun with friends and family. Swimming in the pond in the summer will aways be a fond memory. To Ray, Karen and families. His suffering is now over but he will never truly be gone.
