With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of a wonderful husband, dad and papa. Gaetan at the age of 65 years at his home with his family by his side on July 22, 2008. Loyal, inseperable best friend and husband to Pat (nee: McManus) of 40 years. Loving hero to his children Jacqueline (Paul) Stockford, Marie-Therese, and Gaetan Joseph. Gentle papa to Kayleigh, Adrian and Taylor. Will be deeply missed by his mother Bertha. Survived by brothers Normand (Lise Audette), Re’jean (Fe’), sisters Carmen (Viateur) Lemire, Huguette Gauvin (Pascale Royer), Jocelyne (Earl) Greenfield, and brothers in law T.J. (Faye) McManus, Hughie (Margo) McManus, Gerald McManus, and sister’s in law Evelyne, Mary (Bill) Hammond, Rita Pinder, Helen (Jim) Hilker, and Jean McManus. Will be greatly missed by aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Gabriel, brother Jacques, brother’s in law Camille Gauvin and Charles McManus, sister in law Grace McManus and infant sister Florette. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 37 Church St. Elora on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 from 7-9 PM, and Thursday, July 24, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Prayer service will be held at 8:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 75 Manitoba St. Guelph.
