Passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital on May 4, 2019 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Betty. Dear father of Michelle (Rob) Giddy and Jeff (Christie Weir). Proud grandfather of Braedon, Colton and Grayson Giddy, Jayde and Xavier Collet. Fred will be deeply missed by his canine companion, Riley. Remembered by sisters; Marilyn (Anton) Debono, Charlene (Peter) Jaklitsch, brother; Randy (late Karen) Collet, sister-in-law; Ruth (Late Helmuth) Goertz, brothers-in-law; Jack (Dorice) Peters, Harold (Shelley) Peters, aunt; Marlene Waite and uncles; Gerry Fischer(Gwen) and Ken Fischer(Barb). Fred will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father Joseph (2001) and mother Ruth (2012).

Fred was a Taxi owner/ operator in Waterloo for 34 years. During his 9 years of retirement he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and loyal dog Riley.

The family will receive family and friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 617 King St North, Waterloo on Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Friday, May 10, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A memorial service will begin in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm on Friday.
