Obituary for Evelyn Frances Gammie

Evelyn Frances Gammie (Kaine), passed away peacefully at Heritage House, St. Jacobs on April 17th in her 100th year. Beloved wife of Grant Gammie for 73 years. Proud graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. Loving mother of Elaine (David) of Milton, Ruth (Michael) of Dorset, Bill (Sherry) of Cambridge, Keith (Deb) of Markham, Ross (Kath) of Ariss, Brian son-in-law of Kitchener. Cherished grandmother of Tara, Ryan, Alan, Megan, Brian, Ben, Elise, Drew, Devin, Mark, Kyla, Bruce, Dante, and Dario and great-grandmother of 16. Sister-in-law of Lorene Kaine. Fondly remembered as “Aunt Bid” by her nieces and nephews. Evelyn always had a witty saying to share with family and friends. She encouraged her family to see the positive in things and to be grateful for our many blessings. Predeceased by daughters Margaret and Jan.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at Heritage House, St. Jacobs, for the support and care they provided.
Visitation will be held at Graham A Giddy funeral home at 37 Church St., Elora on April 22, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 with the funeral at Elora United Church on April 23, 2022 at 10:30 am. For safety of all participants, masks are required. Interment will follow at Elora Cemetery. Donations, in Evelyn’s memory, to Groves Memorial Community Hospital or charity of ones choice would be appreciated. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
