Obituary for Euan Carley Brookes

Brookes, Euan Carley

Passed away comfortably at home on Oct. 21, 2022 after more than two years dealing with pain. Born in Scotland in 1961, came to Canada in 1976. Long time resident of Stratford where he loved and excelled playing darts and worked at FAG. Later he moved to Cambridge and worked for Enervac for quite a few years until he lost his left leg. He was passionate about aircraft and had built a fine collection of diecast models which he was very proud of. He was quite fond of taking photos at various air shows he attended. He loved his fast cars from his youth and would delight in telling of the many adventures he had in them. His computer helped him to cope with his time stuck at home and he was in contact on Facebook and Skype with his friends. His favourite sport to watch was soccer (footie) and was a big Man U. fan.

As per Euan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service and he wanted each person to reflect on his life, have a toast, and remember him in their own way. He is survived by his wife Barbara Brookes, mother Isabel Emma Brookes, brother in Scotland , Roy (Meg) Brookes, step daughter Kelly Fisher (Matt Proper), step son Martin Fisher, estranged daughter Courtney Buxton and estranged son Kyle Buxton.
Predeceased by his sister Shona Chambers and brother Adrian Brookes. Funeral arrangement are by Graham A. Giddy Funeral Homes in Fergus and donations in Euan’s name can be made to charities of your choice through the funeral home. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
