Obituary for Elizabeth May Maddess

Passed away peacefully at Wellington Terrace, with her family at her side, on September 15, 2008 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Walter Maxwell Maddess (1988). Cherished sister of Colleen Wasson of California and dearly loved mother of Judy and her husband Terry Aylwin of Fergus. Dear grandmother of Jeff and Carrie Aylwin of Ingersoll, Rick and Tammy Aylwin of Woodstock and Sheri and Christopher Houle of Capreol. Loving great grandmother “Gee-Gee” of David, Jessica, Jesse, Teri-Lynn and Katie. She is survived by and will be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. May was born in Brandon, Manitoba on March 20, 1917 to the late John and Mary Selbie and was predeceased by two brothers William and James. May was a very dedicated housewife and mother with a real creative flare and a mischievous sense of humor. She enjoyed crafts and belonged to craft groups in Edmonton and Lambeth. She created beautiful shell pictures, knitting, quilting, needle arts of all kinds, and until the end created all her own greeting cards. A sincere thank you to Dr. John Ewen and the loving care and attention of the staff of Walnut Grove at the Wellington Terrace. We thank God for having given us this kind and loving soul in our lives and entrust her to His care. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be conducted in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 11:00am. Private family interment in the family plot at Woodland Cemetery in London.
