Eileen Catherine  McManus
Passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Hospice Wellington in her 92nd year. Eileen was born on the 10the of Peel on June 30, 1923. Predeceased by her husband, Charles Leonard McManus.Lovingly remembered by her step-children, Thomas (Karen) McManus, Mary Alice (David) Roden, Elizabeth (John) Gilmour, Michael McManus (Laurie), Teresa (Frank) Dolinsek and Noreen (Dale) Taylor and her many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters and brother in laws Mary (Enos) Cressman, Frances (Frank) Phelan, Margaret (Willard) Weaver and Helen (Edward) Kuntz and her brother, James (Nora) Herman. Also predeceased by her step-son, John Charles (Nancy) McManus, step-grandsons, Gabe Roden and Larry Jensen. Daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (nee Siefried) Herman. Eileen was a lifetime member of the Elora Catholic Women’s League and dedicated volunteer at Wellington Terrace, Elora. Eileen enjoyed socializing with her family and many friends.Visitation will be held at Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church Street, Elora, Ontario on Monday, January 5th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and again at 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Father Rafal Tomon will host prayers at 8:45 pm. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 6th at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 267 Geddes Street, Elora with internment following at St. Mary & Joseph’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Elora. Luncheon and fellowship will follow at the Elora Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Wellington or the St. Mary’s Church Bell Fund would be appreciated. A special thanks to Eileen’s many friends and members of the Elora Catholic Women’s League. Eileen looked forward to your visits and was appreciative of the rides to and from Mass, the trips for coffee at Tim Horton’s as well as other outings. A special thanks to Father Rafal Tomon for his spiritual guidance and friendship.
