Obituary for Edward Francis Johnston

Edward  Francis  Johnston
Passed away peacefully at the age of 88, on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 with his loving family by his side at his home in Fergus. His kind caring nature, musical interests and wonderful sense of humour will be sadly missed from the hearts of all who shared in his life. Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary Evelyn (Peabody) Johnston; survived by loving daughters Anne Charron, Elaine (Bryan) Flewwelling and son Neil Johnston. Proud Grandfather of Michelle (Dave) Blythe, Leanne (Travis) Sachs, Paul (Shannon) Flewwelling & Kelly (Kevin) Moyer. Great Grandfather of Matthew & Benjiman Blythe; Jaimee & Andi Sachs. Also survived by sisters Betty Pearson and Anne LeCarte of Englehart. Ed answered the call and served his country in active duty conditions during WW11. Dedicated Quality Assurrance Inspector with Beatty Bros. and Canada Wire & Cable in Fergus. A special thank-you to friends and family for their love and compassion. Our family would also like to offer sincere gratitude for the exceptional palliative home care and wonderful support offered by Dr. Mark Easterbrook, Bayshore Nursing, CCAC, Closing the Gap PSW’s and all other agencies involved. In keeping with Ed’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends will be received for visitation on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A memorial service to immediately follow at the GRAHAM GIDDY FUNERAL HOME 280 St. David St South, Fergus N1M 2L5. A private family burial will take place. If desired in lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Ed's memory to Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus or The National Association of Professional Cancer Coaches.
