Obituary for Douglas Leonard Newman Clark

CLARK, Douglas Leonard Newman

Passed away at Groves Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 14th in his 83rd year with his loving family at his side after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

He will be missed terribly by the love of his life, Margaret Pinder.

He was the proud father of Richard (Barbara), Stephen (Kim), Doug, Laurie (Bill) Eaton and sadly predeceased by Robbie in 2010. Remembered by daughter in law Kim.

Grandfather to Anita (Paul), and their son Lincoln; Geena (Alex); Todd (Cassandra), and their children Lauren and Liam; Rebecca, and her children Leanna, Lola and Dylan; Holly (Aaron), Doug Jr, Alexis, Alesha and Renae.

Doug was born in Walkerton on October 4, 1939 to Leonard Clark and Hilda Newman. Doug was very fond of his Stepmother, Mary Wright.

Doug and Marg were married on May 23, 1958. Doug had several jobs in the automotive sector over the years. Doug’s Sunoco and towing business, Brett Motors, Ross Dunn Motors and Gary Coopers. Doug was a very devoted father who supported local sports. If he wasn’t coaching, training or manager of a hockey or lacrosse team he would be in the stands cheering on one of his five children. Doug’s genuine kindness and infectious laugh will be remembered by many.

As per Doug’s wishes a private celebration of life will take place.
