Obituary for Dorothy Florence Mary Nelson

Passed away on November 9th, 2006 in her 93rd year at her home in Fergus. Born on March 14th, 1914 in Sarnia, Dorothy lived in Fergus for 49 years. She was the beloved wife of Emery Nelson for more than 65 years, mother of Jane Nelson of Masset, Queen Charlotte Island, BC and Margaret Youngblood (Bruce) of Fergus. Loved grandmother of Stacey McKinnon (Cory) of Ottawa, Todd Youngblood (Michelle) of Fergus, Gwaai Edenshaw of Masset, BC and Jaalen Edenshaw (Amanda) of Masset, BC and great grandmother of Haana Edenshaw of Masset, BC. Dorothy is predeceased by her son Robert James (1946). Dorothy was a school teacher. After graduating from Sarnia Collegiate Institute she attended London Normal School where she graduated in 1933. She commenced her teaching career at her home country school near Sarnia. In 1935 Dorothy began her university studies at University of Western Ontario where she met Emery Nelson who became her devoted husband in 1941. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Sunday, November 12th 2006 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be conducted at Melville United Church in Fergus on Monday, November 13th 2006 at 2:00pm. Private interment will be in the family plot in Sarnia at a later date.
