Dorothy Jean Kelly
Gone to join her husband of 49 years, Raymond J. (2003). Passed away on June 28, 2016 after having a stroke on June 14. Dorothy leaves behind 3 children; Lou-Ann (Dale), Jodi (Kim), and Paul (Sue). Grandchildren; Cole, Sam and Becky, Megan and Jesse, Raeannan and Luke. Step Grandchildren Allegra and Michael. Great Grandchildren Solomon and Simon. Step Great Grandchild, Harlee. Dorothy leaves to grief 2 brothers, Joe and Doug, and sister Fern. Predeceased by brother Jack and Charles, sisters Dianne and Judy Lynn. Graduating as a nurse, off to Alaska, to Oakville Trafalgar Hospital, finishing her career at Groves Memorial in Fergus. The event planner, the match maker, the lover of life, people and family. She loved her trips to her home on Anna Maria Island. Dad and her for years, recording motel, gas costs and mileage/ day. Dorothy had just returned in April from her winter on Anna Maria Island. Where she hosted one of her famous pot lucks. She was no ordinary “Almost 90 year old”. She told us this winter she tried to be almost 90, but got bored! She was kind and interested in everyone, loved a good laugh (With head back!) Loved music (Elbows up!) Good food, swimming in the ocean…friends were family, family were friends. Dorothy started life riding a horse to school, ending with her toes in the sand. There was adversity in her life, but she always chose to see the brighter side. There was so much that we all learned from this wonderful lady, we won’t ever forget her. Visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home Fergus, Ontario on Sunday July 3, 7:00-9:00 pm. Parish prayers at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian burial on Monday July 4 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church Fergus, Ontario. www.grahamgiddyfh.com 519-843-3100
