Obituary for Dorothy Campbell

Peacefully, following a stroke, surrounded by her family in hospital, Dorothy Marcella Campbell (nee McLean) on July 16, 2019 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Robert Harold Campbell. Cherished mother of Karen Elizabeth Campbell, Gordon Blake Campbell (Lesley), and Alison Leigh Howard (Roy). Proud and adored grandmother of Tyler Robert Douglas and Jessica Lynn Marie Campbell and of Cassandra Leigh Howard. Predeceased by sister Frances McLean Geekie of Ottawa and brother Harold McLean of Niton Junction, Alberta. Special sister-in-law to Dennis Campbell (Betty) of Toronto. Devoted daughter of the late Georgina May Clifford of Wiarton and Cyril Hardy McLean of Brechin, Ontario. Fondly remembered and sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Dorothy graduated as a registered nurse in 1956, receiving the highest award for general proficiency in her class. She accepted a position on the staff of the Galt (now Cambridge) hospital on the maternity ward. Later, she attended the University of Western Ontario, graduating with a Public Health Nursing Diploma. She spent several years before her marriage doing public health nursing work in the Cambridge area.

Family and friends may call at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Homes- Fergus Chapel at 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, Ontario on Monday, July 22, 2019 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church at 760 St. David St. North in Fergus, Ontario on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place immediately after the service at the Marymount Catholic Cemetery, at 5400 Highway #6 North, Guelph, Ontario. A reception will then follow in Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum at the Marymount Cemetery.
