It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Doris Irene Ens on May 11, 2021. She was our loving and devoted Mother, caring and always compassionate partner, a kind and playful grandmother and friend to all of those she touched. Doris will be dearly missed by her partner Donald Gidley, her children Catherine (Paul) Hurwood, Mary Balkwill, James Ens and her sister Violet (Samual) Bent. Lovingly remembered her grandchildren Teresa Pollard (Alex DeSivo), Cyndi (Jason Guthrie), Jeff Balkwill (Sarah Agustus), Jessie & C.J. Laszlo, Megan Ens, Nathaniel & Joshua Shuker and her great grandchildren Dustin Pollard & Kieron Walters, Justice, Jonah and Luca Guthrie, Warner & Jett Balkwill and Sabastian Shuker. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Bessy Mitchell and her daughters Christine Pollard, Colleen Ens-Laszlo and siblings Andrew, Raymond and William Mitchell. Doris instilled in her family Tenacity, Wit, Charm and Relentless Love, for which we are all grateful. Doris is well known and loved by friends and community neighbours. She was a long time president of the Rockwood Lioness, known for her Cancer Fund Raisers and organizing events in the community of Rockwood. The family would like to personally thank all those who sent their love and condolences during this stressful time. Special thanks to Jocelyn RN from Bayshore Home Hospice Team. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, the family will celebrate Doris’s life in private, with hopes to conduct a public Celebration of Life when restrictions are lifted.
