Passed away peacefully at Caressant Care in Harriston on Monday November 16th at the age of 84. Doreen was predeceased by her brother Fred Howatt(1994) and sister Mary Clarke(2017) as well as her parents George and Annie Howatt. Doreen dedicated a great deal of her spare time to the Fergus Curling Club which she was a life member of and Past Ladies President. In her younger years she was an outstanding swimmer and won the 1 mile amateur race at The C.N.E. in Toronto. A great deal of her awards, pins and ribbons were donated to the Wellington County Museum and Archives. As per her wishes, Doreen will be buried at The Belsyde Cemetery along with her sister Mary in her family plot in the near future. Donations can be directed towards The Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus.
