Bubbles in the Bathroom

Donna ane I are close. Not always in miles, but in our hearts. Being the same age, we spent a lot of time together at Grandma Martin's farm, some times Donna at my house or me at hers in Erin.

One year in the spring, Aunt Leona brought everyone to the farm. I was there to spend time with Donna. I believe the thought was we would keep each other company and be less trouble.

We had bubbles, not sure if they were from Easter or we were given them that day. For those of you who remember the bathroom at the farm, it was huge. One of us decided we should blow bubbles in the bathroom. We always had good ideas.

I do not remember how long we were there, but I remember the bathroom was full of bubbles. In our hair, on the sink, the mirror, the tub. A room full of bubbles, like Lawrence Welk. When there was a knock on the door. It was Linda!!!

Being older, she went and told Aunt Leona on us. At the time, I thought just to get us in trouble for having fun.It was the only time I remember Aunt Leona being mad at me, so of course, it was Linda's fault.

Aunt Leona made Donna and I scrub down the bathroom. I do not remember doing the ceiling, but the walls, the fixtures etc. Donna and I were soaked before we started cleaning up bubble residue. I am sure we had help cleaning up the mess. I don't remember that part. All I remember is that huge room, full of bubbles and Donna and I laughing and having a great time, until Linda ruined our fun.

I don't remember all the details, but I do remember the bubbles and the laughter. Donna is lots of fun and has a great laugh. She will be greatly missed, her sense of humour and fun will live on in our hearts forever.
