Obituary for Donald Alvin Cruickshank

We are shocked and saddened to announce the very sudden passing of Donald Alvin Neil Cruickshank, 53, on September 25, 2018. Don is survived by his children Ciara, Kylie, and Noah; his former spouse, Lisa Town; parents Ross and Lynda Cruickshank; siblings Richard (Susan) Cruickshank, Heather (Rick) Brown, Coleen (Peter) Komorowski, Peter (Debbie) Cruickshank and a whole bunch of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and his faithful four-legged companion, Xena. Don was a man who would do anything for anyone. He lived for his children. They were his pride and joy. He enjoyed the special times he spent with each of them individually, and together, as a family. He was thrilled and looking so forward to becoming a grandfather in March. Outside of his family, Don enjoyed tinkering around in his garage and working on his vehicles. He also loved being outdoors and spending time up north, fishing and ATVing. Don was a long-term employee of YRC Reimer and received many service awards. Just a few weeks ago, Don voiced the way he wanted to ‘go’ when his time was up. He got exactly what he wanted - leaving this earth the best way he could imagine. Family and friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home – Fergus Chapel, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus, on Thursday, October 4th, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Words of Remembrance will be held at 3:00pm, followed by reception. Donations can be made to any animal welfare charity of your choice. You lived your life on your terms. You passed quickly and painlessly, Soar high! Until we meet again…...dearly missed, forever cherished.
