Passed away peacefully on April 30, 2016 at Groves Memorial Community Hospital, after a short battle with ALS. Predeceased by his parents, Norman and Georgina (Jean) Wood. David is survived by his brothers, Rodney (Sue) Montgomery of Sault Ste. Marie, Roger (Sandy) Montgomery of Guelph and sister, Carolyn (Flemming) Terkildsen of Franks Lake, SK and their families. David had a love of life and a wide range of interests with the love of his two dogs, Tiny and Sammy, The British Saloon Car Club of Canada, and photography topping the list. He took great interest in his community and the people around him. David will be fondly remembered and missed by many good friends and neighbours, especially his friends in the British Saloon Car Club of Canada which paid him a wonderful tribute with their 40+ car “drive-by”. The following is a message that David wanted included in his obituary:“ My life did not turn out so bad – short maybe, but not bad. I have crossed the paths of many people, hopefully enriching their lives as they have enriched my own. I have many good friends who have come out to offer support, letting me know that I am loved and will be missed. Can it get any better? No, I think not.” A Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday May 5th, 2016 from 11:00 – 1:00 pm at The Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St South, Fergus. Memories of David will be shared at 12:00 pm, all are welcome to participate. Burial will follow at The Elora Cemetery.
