Life Story for Daphne "Dee" Greenhough (Watkins)

Called Dee by family and friends, died unexpectedly on August 17, 2016, at the age of 81, after falling down the stairs at her home on Clarke Street in Elora, Ontario. Dee is survived by her daughter, Jane Lake; her twin sister, Doreen Ledbrook; and her grandchildren, Adrianne, Colin, Elisha, Kristen and Timothy. She is predeceased by her son, John Fisher; brother, Ron; and parents, Horace and Nellie Watkins. Dee came to Canada from Middleton Cheney, England, in 1969, with her former spouse, John Fisher, and their children, Jane and John. The family settled in Elora where Dee worked for many years at Simmons. She loved this area and the community, businesses (especially JJ’s) and friendly neighbours around her, as well as her loving friends from a weekly coffee club in Guelph. Dee was known for her zest for life; for being there when she was needed most, no matter the time; for her love of nature, her garden, her silver Mini, and her little dog, Zoe. She was a force to be reckoned with and will be sadly missed. The next journey begins. Memorial Visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00pm. Memorial donations in Daphne’s memory can be made to the Guelph Humane Society. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
