Obituary for Daniel Paul "Dan" Margetiak
Daniel Paul “Dan” Margetiak passed away unexpectedly at Hamilton General Hospital on November 19, 2020 at the age of 53.
Dan is survived by his parents, Paul and Ann Margetiak of Elora, his wife Julia Margetiak of Fergus and his sister Rebecca and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Plant of Cochrane, Ontario.
Dan was an accomplished Millwright working out of the Millwright Local 1916 Union Hall of Hamilton. He enjoyed nature and loved spending time in Northern Ontario. He had a passion for fishing, snowmobiling, drag cars and had a profound love for his cats, Puma and Kikoe and handsome black German Shepherd, Tala. He will be missed for his witty sense of humor, authenticity, honesty and loyalty towards those he loved.
Funeral service will be held at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1 pm. It will be a private service for immediate family only. The service will be available for extended family and friends to view virtually on that date. Details for viewing the service can be found on the funeral home website. Interment will follow in the spring of 2021 at Chapman Cemetery, Magnetawan, Ontario, details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation, The Arthritis Society, or to the Mark Preece Family House, Hamilton.
