Obituary for Charlotte Allison Cochrane

Charlotte Allison Cochrane (Wright) 1935-2023, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 7 at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus Ontario, surrounded by her loved ones.

Charlotte lit up any space she entered. The word stranger didn't exist to her; she
enthusiastically made friends with all she met. Her many close friendships lasted many decades and span the globe from dance friends, neighbours and her large Cochrane and Wright families.

She especially loved to share about her days in the Royal Winnipeg ballet, early CBC stage work, Banff school of the arts, and the Mendelssohn Choir, as well as her midlife return to nursing school. She was fond of the memories of family gathering at the Buckhorn Lake cottage. In later years she had enthusiastic interest in the community around her and fostering her own creativity through storytelling and painting. She warmed many hands with her homemade mittens and hearts with her smile.

She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years, John, and sisters, Carol, Mimi, and Nancy, survived by her 6 devoted children: Charles (Carol, Deceased), Doug, Gord (Adriane), Jim (Kim), Janet, and Maureen (Steven), and her 15 beloved grandchildren: Stephanie (Abhay), Erin (Zaid), Jordan, Moira, William, Devyn, Breanna, Robert (Amanda), Alanna (David), Maya (Michael), Rory, Tomei, Remie, Sophia, and Aiden, and great-grandchild Declan.

In her final days she found the comfort she needed to move on in her journey.

She was greatly loved by all and will be missed.
