Obituary for Charles David "Charlie" Peppler

Charles David "Charlie" Peppler
Surrounded by his adoring family, Charles David Peppler passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington. He leaves his beloved wife and travelling companion, Wyonna, his three children Nancy (Danny), Richard (Josee) and Lea Anne, and six grandchildren, Anna, Victoria, David, Warren, Daniel and Maria, who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his mother, Mert, and survived by brothers Milton Peppler, and Douglas, John, George and James Alles, along with one sister, Daphne Winans and many nieces and nephews. A longtime resident of Elora, more recently of Guelph and Arthur Township, he loved photography, cats, music, dogs, crossword puzzles, history, nature and auction sales, in no particular order. We will miss his sense of humour, his lightning wit, and his quiet and unflagging dedication to his family, who were the cornerstone of his life. He was a gifted teacher, coach and storyteller, an incorrigible punster and the most valiant of men. Cancer changed his looks, but not his outlook! After his first surgery, he spent the next seventeen years travelling the world with Wyonna, his high school sweetheart, and volunteering with the Canadian Cancer Society. He was our hero, and we will miss him forever. We are so grateful to the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington, for their loving care. Thanks also to the intrepid Dr. Stuart Archibald, who gave us precious years we might not otherwise have had (see chapter 27), and Dr. Ian MacPhee, along with the staff at Guelph General Hospital. Visitation will take place at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME – 37 Church St, Elora on Sunday, March 2nd from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, March 3rd at 1pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospice Wellington, The Canadian Cancer Society or Right to Play. www.grahamgiddyfh.com 519 843 3100
