The world lost a beloved Wife, Mother and Nanny, Catherine Elizabeth Small (Hooey) on March 19, 2022. Cathy struggled with health challenges for many years, showing the world her courage, strength and bravery. After a more recent battle, she is now resting in peace. Her grandchildren, Adaline, Asher and Kyler were the light of her life. She leaves behind her husband of 43 years, Jack and two children, Jacqueline (Andy) and Derek(Gillian).

Cathy died with husband Jack and daughter Jacqueline by her side and son Derek sending his love from afar. She is survived by siblings Brenda(Fred), Carol(Bob), Peter(Kim) and Brian(Karen). Also, many nieces, nephews, and their children who loved her dearly. Predeceased by her parents Bob and Jean Hooey.

Cathy worked for many years bringing joy and kindness to her clients and co-workers at Caressant Care Nursing Home. She wore her heart on her sleeve, and cared dearly for many people. She was passionate to say the least.

Friends and family are invited to say a final goodbye to Cathy on Thursday March 24 at Graham Giddy Funeral Home in Fergus; 10:30 - 11:30 am for visitation, with a service beginning at 11:30 in the funeral home chapel.
