Obituary for CATHERINA "TINA" VISSER

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherina (Tina) Visser at the Wellington Terrace Nursing Home in Elora on her 89th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Tim (1996). She will be sadly missed by her daughters Margo Visser and her husband Ken of Amityville, New York, Marianne Visser of London, Ont, Lee Fair and her husband Paul of Guelph and son Walt Visser and his wife Donna of Fergus. As well her grandchildren Lisa, Sabrina, Nicole, Marc, Erica, Tegan, Myra, Darlene, Karen. Her family and many friends will sadly miss her , especially her friend to the end Hennie Smit. Tina was a fighter and survivor. She met her husband in Amsterdam and followed him to the Dutch East Indies where they married. She survived the second world war in a Japanese concentration camp. After the war she returned to Holland but immigrated to Canada so that her sons would not be drafted into the military. For over 25 years she was a cheerful face that greeted you in the Dutch Toko store in Guelph. Her passion was her family and she leaves a large hole in all our hearts that will not be filled. The family will receive their friends at the GRAHAM A. GIDDY FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 280 ST. DAVID ST. S. FERGUS. From 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Thursday. Funeral service will be celebrated at the funeral home on Friday March 12, 2004, at 12:00 noon. Followed by cremation. Fr. Ken Miskiewicz officiating at the service. Remembrances to the Groves Hospital Building Fund would appreciated by the family. (cards available at the funeral home 843-3100). www.grahamgiddyfh.com
