With great sadness the Manderson family announces the passing of (James) Brent Manderson (54 years) at their home on July 30, 2014. He will be deeply missed by family members, his many friends and all that knew him. He leaves a void in our hearts and in our world. Beloved husband of 30 years of Julie. Loving and proud father to Brooke and Denver. Devoted son to June Ratz and brother of Harvey (Marg), Cam (Judy) and stepsister Ladyna. Brent will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Merle Arthurs, sister-in-law Lynne Willock (Terry) and brother-in-law Brad Arthurs (Debbie). Fondly remembered by his many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. Brent is predeceased by his father Archibald Manderson, brother Lloyd, father-in-law Lloyd Arthurs and stepfather John Ratz. For Brent, his last three and a half years of living with cancer were not a battle but rather a begrudging tolerance of the limitations it imposed on him. Throughout these years he endured his disease and continued to lead his life with the usual vigor he always exhibited. He truly enjoyed cottage life and cherished time with his family and friends. His attitude was an inspiration to all who knew him. His kind, gentle heart will always surround and comfort his family and friends. To honour Brent’s wishes, family and friends are invited to join the family for a Memorial Celebration at the Pine Meadows Community Building, 8473 Wellington Rd. 19 in Belwood, on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. In memory of Brent, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Groves Hospital Foundation.
