Obituary for Beverley E. P. Noel (Clarke)

Beverley E. P. Noel (Clarke)
Passed away on December 1, 2016 at Wellington Terrace LTC near Fergus, Ontario at the age of 79. Much loved mother of Derek and his wife Cynthia of Salem and Gordon and his wife Preeti of Toronto, loved grandmother of Jack, Edward, Fiona and George Noel of Salem and Munro Noel of Toronto. Beverley is the cherished sister and Pal of Nadine (George) Madarasz of Kelowna, BC. Beverley is predeceased by her husband Norman (2000), her parents Edward and Marion Clarke of LaSalle, QC, and her dear sisters Shirley Clarke-McGlashan and Diana Rideout, and also by Derek and Cynthia’s special girl, Jolene (2006), for whom Bev always had a kind word and a pat on the leg. Beverley was born in Chambly, QC and thrived on big-city living in Montreal for many years. She worked at Northern Electric as a research librarian and pursued her passion for world travel. Bev later moved to Ontario and made her contribution through being an owner/operator of a Pizza Delight franchise in Fergus (later Papa Galucci’s Pizzeria). Beverley eventually retired to Guelph and was close to the “sister of her heart”, her dear friend, Marie Lee, with whom she shared her love of travel. Beverley was very creative and was a talented artist, baker, and chocolatier. She had a strong and independent spirit. Beverley’s fortitude of character allowed her to carry herself through her years of declining health with grace and dignity. Thank you to her many and varied caregivers over the last few years at the Ellington-Guelph, Caressant Care-Fergus, Chartwell-Elmira, and for the kind care at the end of her life at the Wellington Terrace- Fergus. Visitation will be held at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus, on Monday, December 5th, 2016 from 5:00 to 8:00pm. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 at 11:00am. Interment will take place in the spring. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Mennonite Coalition for Refugee Support are appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Your task is done. The chamber in which we have whiled away so many hours, not, I hope, without some pleasure and some profit, is deserted; our happy hour of meeting strikes no more. (Dickens). Rest well, mum.
