Obituary for Beverley Blythe Billingsley (Smith)

Beverley Blythe Billingsley passed away on October 10, 2022 at home with her family by her side.

Beautiful and loving Mom to Catherine and John and beloved Grammy to Dana. Beverley will be missed by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Sharon and goodest of boys Finn. She will be remembered by her cousins, niece and dear, lifelong friends. She is predeceased by her dear husband and best friend Peter, her parents Phyllis and Donald, and Auntie Blythe.

Beverley was born in Woodstock, Ontario on February 1, 1947. She attended Woodstock Collegiate Institute and then went on to earn her degree from Western University. Beverley entered the world of teaching at Oakville Trafalgar H.S. where she met Peter. She brought her educational background to the Wellington County Museum and Archives first as a volunteer and then in the role of program assistant. After retirement, Bev and Peter started a pick-your-own flower farm on their lovely property.

We will always remember her big heart, love of nature, thoughtfulness, fondness of reading, her artistry and deep knowledge, proficient eye rolling skills, unique ability to have all flat surfaces covered, wry sense of humour, and her delicious pie crust.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Bayshore nurses who came to care for her each day.

As per Beverley’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. Donations may be made in memory of Beverley to Wellington County Museum and Archives or local food banks.
