Obituary for Betty Anne Taylor (Brock)

Betty Anne Taylor (Brock)
1942 – 2014
Passed away peacefully on September 18, 2014, at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus after an 18-month battle with cancer, a battle that demonstrated her physical stamina, her mental strength, her love for her family and her will to live. She was born in London, Ontario, to the late Carl and Annie Brock (nee Waghorn). A long-time employee of Zehrs Markets in Fergus until her retirement in 2007, Betty also worked for the Wellington County Board of Education and the City of Guelph in her earlier years. A devoted horsewoman, Betty was a member of the Guelph Pony Club in her youth, serving as the District Commissioner for a time. She was also an active member of the Melville United Church congregation, and later, the Speedside United Church. She is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of almost 44 years, David Byron Taylor, her daughter Lisa (Jeremy Hohertz), her son, David, as well as her three brothers, Clayton Brock, Milton Brock (Joan) and Brian Brock (Roz). Betty was deeply thrilled and proud to be a grandmother, and was an adoring and constant presence in the lives of her grandchildren, Liam and Anna, who will miss their “Amou” dearly. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014, at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus, from 12:00 noon until the time of service, which will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in memory of Betty to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada, or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left at www.grahamgiddyfh.com. 519-843-3100
