Obituary for Betty Marie MINAROVICH (Mannerow)

MINAROVICH, Betty Marie (nee Mannerow) - of Elora, Ontario, passed away peacefully, after an illness, at home on Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at 71 years of age. Predeceased by her husband, Felix Bernard, she will be missed by her daughters Stephanie and Lisa, her mother Verna Cleeves, her sister Marjorie Halls, and brother Bill Mannerow. At her request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Presently, her daughters are accepting visitors at her home in Elora. Memorial donations may be made to the Elora Centre for the Arts. Born near Chesley, Ontario, Betty grew up in southern Ontario. She later moved to Turkey were she taught, met her future husband, and developed her passion for antiques and Middle Eastern culture. Back in Canada, she became a teacher at Centre Wellington District High School from 1965 to 1988, and a well-known advocate for the arts community. Betty has touched countless lives of students, teachers, volunteers, and friends. Her hospitality and savvy wit will be dearly missed by so many.
