Passed away peacefully at his home, with his family at his side, on January 11, 2009 in his 77th year. Ben will be greatly missed by his wife of 48 years, Klaasje (Hoeve). Fondly remembered by his daughter Jenny Porter (Jamie) and his son Luke (Leanne). Loving grandfather to Brent, Adam & Makyla Porter and Ciara, Logan, Dawson and Bryce De Boer. Predeceased by his son Klaas (2000). Survived by many family and friends in Holland and British Columbia. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Homes, 280 St. David St. South in Fergus on Thursday, January 15th from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be conducted at St. John’s United Church in Belwood on Friday, January 16th at 11:00am.
