Obituary for Barry Lorne Mark March

It is with heartfelt sadness and despite his “tank” like persistence we announce that Barry Lorne Mark March’s fire is gone and like many of the steam trains he loved rolled to a stop at Groves Memorial Hospital on Saturday September 25, 2021 at the age of 79. This amazing man who was at the centre of all of our lives was surrounded by his wife Diane (nee Reburn) and all of his children. He leaves behind Diane, Joel (Renee), Heather and Trevor (Erin Faulkner) and his grandchildren Caleb, Shylah and Alyssa. Barry had fought a long battle with cancer but he never gave up and continued to enjoy his beloved curling and woodworking until this last year.
He was a brilliant man who enjoyed the “puzzles” of life and figuring out what made things tick. He was a doer, a fabricator, a renovator and a “fixer” of almost anything.
We want to sincerely thank the nursing staff and doctors at Groves who gave so generously of their time, skill and humor to keep him comfortable and engaged until the very end.
A private cremation has already occurred and other plans will be announced at a later date.
Donations in Barry’s memory may be made to the Fergus Curling Club or Groves Memorial Hospital.
