Passed away peacefully at The Rockwood Terrace in Durham Ontario at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his loving wife Eunice(nee:Binnie). Barrie will be sadly missed by his son Earl and Daughter Linda(predeceased by sons Ross and Glen Hopkins) survived by grandchildren Jeffrey Hopkins, Alexander Hopkins, Jeremy Biffis, Jason Biffis, Josh Biffis as well as great grandchildren Jacob, Adrienne, Ceara, Kaitlyn, Hailey, Tyler, Emma and Dani. Barrie will be best remembered for his “Bits and Pieces” article that ran weekly in The Wellington Advertiser for many years and for his bird shop that he owned and ran in downtown Fergus. Visitation for Barrie will be held at The Graham Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David Street South, Fergus on Tuesday August 21st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday August 22nd at 11am followed by burial at Belsyde Cemetery in Fergus.
