Herteis, Arlene Elizabeth (nee) Ditner
Passed away on Monday January 3, 2022 at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario at the age of 81 years. Arlene was a lifetime resident of St. Clements, ON. Loving wife of the late Gerald John Herteis. Dear mother of Jeffrey Herteis ( Donna ) of Waterloo, Jo Anne Anderson ( Steve Archer ) of Woodstock, Sharon Haffner ( Doug ) of Dorchester and Parry Herteis ( Julie ) of Cambridge. Loving Grandmother of Valerie ( Mike ), Rachel, Steve ( Erica ), Nicole ( Darin ), Luke ( Bethany ), Kyla ( Derek ), Tori ( Jonathan ), Ashley and Amy. Great Grandmother to Remington, Corbin, Isla, Walter and Max. Arlene will also be missed by her sister Bernice Cherrey ( George ) her brother Rick Ditner ( Barb )and many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by her dear and special family friend Keith Hehn and his puppies, especially Sam. Predeceased by her parents John and Marianne Ditner and her daughter Sheila Herteis. Arlene was an Honorary Lifetime member of the St. Clement Christian Mother’s Society. She was also an active volunteer with the Alzheimer Society Waterloo Wellington making lap quilts for the Society’s Touch Quilt Project. Arlene was very proud to have made close to 2000 quilt tops for the project. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home 617 King Street N, Waterloo (519-888-7700) on Thursday January 6, 2022 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Due to covid-19, please follow all guidelines with respect to masks and social distancing. Please register a time through the website to visit with the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday January 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Clement R.C. Church in St. Clements ON. Interment to follow at St. Clement R.C. Church Cemetery.
