Antonio (“Tony”) Marien was born February 24, 1923 in Palo, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on May 26, 2019 in Elora, Ontario. Over his 96 years he saw dramatic changes in the human experience and embraced it all with enthusiasm.

He is survived by his loving family; his sons Leslie (Valerie), Marc (Cristina) and Michael (Shirley); his grandchildren Lindsay (Steve), Adam, Hillary (Rob), Connor and Teresa; his great-grandchildren Ryan, Rebecca, Alton and Desmond; and by his sister Joan. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years Gisele, his parents, Joseph and Antonia, his brothers Lucien, Joseph, and Lawrence and his sisters Laura and Aurore.

He was a proud Canadian Armed Forces WWII veteran, who also had a successful career as an executive with Sears Canada. Tony was a devoted husband to Gisele and a wonderful Dad. He was kind and gentle and will be remembered for his sense of humour and his generous nature. He shared with us his passion for travel, adventure and a love of nature. Family life was filled with road trips and endless summers at the cottage.

A special thanks to Dr. Stickney for his excellent and attentive care. The family cannot express their gratitude enough to the staff of Wellington Terrace for their warm and compassionate care for both Tony and Gisele. You are special people.

A man of deep and solid faith, he left us in peace and serenity, We pray that he is welcomed into the loving arms of the Father.A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday July 9 th 2019 at St. Mary the Immaculate Church, 267 Geddes St, Elora at 11.00 am.
