Annie Elizabeth  McDonald (Mitchell)
Passed away on February 21, 2016 at Twin Oakes Maryhill at the age of 82. Predeceased by her husband Earl (1994) and two children in infancy. Will be dearly missed by her children Marlene (Jim Seifried) McDonald, Stan (Kelly Crane) McDonald, Donna (Grant) Ecclestone, Wayne (Heather) McDonald and Sheila (Graham) Clow. Beloved Grandma to Ryan, Dalton, Ritchie, Zoey, Sam, Tessa, Avery and Michelle, special great grandmother to Sophia and Marek. Will always be remembered by her Godson Palmer Funkenhauser. Sister to Robert (Barbara) Mitchell, Grace (Robert-deceased) Ball, Norma (Ken- deceased) Ritchie, as well as sister-in-law Diane Mitchell. Predeceased by her brother William Mitchell. Annie will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. Among many her accomplishments and accolades , Annie was Elora citizen of the year (1993) member of the Canadian Hall of Fame for Lacrosse (1994), Lifetime member of the Elora Mohawk Jr B Lacrosse and Zone 8 Lacrosse Club and was a longstanding volunteer with minor Mohawk Lacrosse. Her greatest accomplishments were her kids and grandkids – she loved them all dearly. Visitation will take place at The Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church St, Elora on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 51 Church St, Elora on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at the Elora Cemetery.
