Anne (Florence) Goss, 79 years, of Fergus, Ontario on February 11, 2022
surrounded by family and much love at Groves Memorial Hospital following
a long and courageous battle with a number of health issues. Predeceased
in 2017 by her beloved husband of 56 years, Gary. Dear mother to Tracy
of Newmarket, Chris(Cathy) of Elora and Greg (Catharine) of Fergus.
Gramma to her grandchildren Kyle (Sara),Blair (Kendra), Danielle (James)
and Deanna (Justin). Great Gramma to her beloved great-grandchildren
Tucker, Layla, James, Alice Anne, Bella and Makayla. Her family was her
life and we will miss her beyond words. Born Florence Anne Roberts to
Gerald and Frances Roberts of Toronto, she quickly dispensed with the
name Florence. She started a family young and remained fiercely devoted
to them her whole life. An avid sports enthusiast, she played baseball,
broomball, bowling and curling with a competitive spirit. Family summers
at the cottage were a highlight of our lives with Mom at the centre of
it all. In later years as her health declined, stoically and without
complaint she withstood challenges and pain that would have overwhelmed
most while remaining independent and more concerned for others than
herself. Her remarkable energy kept her fighting to the end to stay with
her family. Mom leaves behind a legacy of love and an inspiring example
of strength. The family deeply thanks the incredible skill and
compassion of the doctors and health professionals that supported her.
Dr. Williams, Dr. Pridham, and the incredible Nurses of the Green Unit
Team at Groves Memorial Hospital. Many thanks to St. Elizabeths for your
ongoing care and friendship. A Celebration of Life will be held at a
later date. The family suggests donations to Groves Memorial Hospital as
expressions of sympathy. www.grahamgiddyfh.com
